Thermodynamic LSI Generator

The Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) is a critical metric for facility managers and HVAC engineers. Search for your city below to pull the municipal baseline hydrochemical data (TDS, pH, Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness) and calculate the exact scaling or corrosive risk for your equipment.

Why calculate the Langelier Saturation Index?

Water is naturally a universal solvent. If it is under-saturated (LSI < 0), it will aggressively dissolve metals from your pipes and heat exchangers to reach equilibrium, causing catastrophic leaks and infrastructure failure.

Conversely, if water is over-saturated (LSI > 0), it will precipitate calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) scale onto heat transfer surfaces. Just 1mm of scale can increase boiler energy consumption by over 7.5%, drastically increasing commercial operating costs.
